(en) In this paper, the author analyzes literary sources concerning the use of modern nanotechnologies for the production of textile materials with given properties of various intended purposes. The possibilities of introduction of modern technologies in the research and production of light industry and perspectivedirections of development of innovations of the garment industry are considered. The research highlights such promising directions of innovation development: nanotechnology, bio- and photo -informatics, technologies of information support of processes of the life cycle of goods. The author of the article considered the assortment of textile products with protective functions. Nanomaterials -materials containing structural elements whose geometric dimensions do not exceed 100 nanometers in at least one direction, and have qualitatively new properties, functional and operational characteristics. That is, nanotechnologies can be defined as technologies based on manipulations of individual atoms and molecules to construct structures with predefined properties. In the textile industry of leading countries, the production of nanofibers and the finishing of fabrics at nanoscale are widely being introduced. Fibers filled with nanoparticles have reduced shrinkage, combustibility, increased durability, endurance and wear resistance. Chemical fibers acquire high electrically and thermally conductive properties, chemical activity, resistance to UV radiation, increased durability and endurance during bending. New types of tissue, in fibers which contain nanoparticles of certain substances, allow you to create clothes with unique, pre-programmed properties. Particular attention is paid to the application of those nanotechnologies, the use of which allows them to obtain several desired effects on these materials and products(bactericidal, hydrophilic, water, oil, dirt repulsion, etc.). Studies in the field of nanotechnology implementation in the textile industry are conducted on the basis of Kyiv National University of Technology and Design (KNUTD) and Khmelnytsky National University (KhNU). Scientists of the Kherson National Technical University (ХНТУ) work on theoretical substantiation and engineering developments of competitive technologies for the design of textile products that provide consumer demand.
