Тема Другої світової війни в українському художньому кіно

Abstract

(uk) У статті представлено узагальнений перелік художньо-ігрових філь мів, пов’язаних із темою Другої світової війни, знятих у різний час на українських кіностудіях, та зроблена спроба певним чином систематизувати їх. Подається коротка інформація про основний зміст більшості кінокартин і висвітлюється оцінка та значення окремих із них. Виділені періоди в розвитку українського кіно, які відзначені особливостями щодо цієї проблематики в її кількісному та якісному плані.

(en) The article presents a generalized list of feature films related to the theme of the Second World War, shot at different times at Ukrainian film studios, and an attempt is made to systematize them in some way. A brief information on the main content of most films is given, and the assessment and significance of some of them are covered. There are selected periods in the development of Ukrainian cinema, which are marked by peculiarities in relation to this issue in its quantitative and qualitative terms. The period of the war and the first post-war years is for Ukrainian cinema a time of "small pictures", which is also characteristic of the films about the war. Almost all of them corresponded to the character of the Soviet cinema of the Stalinist totalitarian era. Creative ideas that went beyond what was allowed remained unrealized. The period from the mid-1950s to the end of the Soviet era was marked in Ukrainian cinema by a significant increase in the number of films about the war and their genre diversity. Some liberalization of the Soviet regime, changes in the political leadership of the republic influenced the creation, character, and distribution of this film production. The films about the war made during this period are different. Along with works of mainly propaganda orientation, there were many highly artistic pictures. Feature film, depicting diverse themes of World War II and created in independent Ukraine, reflected a new interpretation of historical events, figures, phenomena, but, according to some authors, also showed a number of problems of ideological and creative plan.
