Математична теорія нормалізації: нормальні форми 2-4 порядків

Abstract

(uk) У статті викладено фрагмент математичної теорії нормалізації: наводяться строгі означення 2-4 нормальних форм (НФ) для табличних (реляційних) баз даних; визначаються потенційні ключі за умов, коли значення потужностей реляційної схеми і домена знаходяться у межах |R| <= 2 або |D| <= 1 (розглядаються умови, коли аксіоматика Армстронга не є повною); вказуються достатні умови для знаходження у 2-4 НФ для спеціальних випадків; встановлюються логічні зв’язки між сформульованими означеннями 2-4 НФ.(en) This paper presents a fragment of normalization theory: rigorous definitions of Second Normal Form, Third Normal Form, Boyce-Codd Normal Form and Fourth Normal Form in table (relation) databases are given; finding out the meanings of candidate keys, provided that the values of cardinalities of the scheme R (finite set of attributes) and the universal domain D (the set, from which attributes take on values in interpretations) lie within |R| <= 2 або |D| <= 1 (considered conditions when Armstrong’s axiomatic is not complete). Sufficient conditions which ensure that the table being in Second Normal Form, Third Normal Form, Boyce-Codd Normal Form and Fourth Normal Form for special cases are specified. Logical connections between the determined definitions of normal forms are established and it is shown that those definitions are satisfied the principle of "inclusion" higher normal forms in lower normal forms.
