(uk) Сленг з'являється в мові, поширюється і побутує деякий час, але потім зникає, поступаючись місцем новому сленгу, разом з новою модою і новими віяннями. Особливо популяризуються сленгізми в періоди певних соціальних зрушень, воєн, економічних і культурних змін, коли відчувається нагальна потреба виокремити нові поняття та явища. Більш того, сленг перетинає не тільки соціальні, культурні, а й географічні кордони. Сленг – це емоційно забарвлена нелітературна лексика, яка виникає і використовується насамперед в усному мовленні. Більшість слів і словосполучень незрозумілі або малозрозумілі для основної маси населення. Фамільярно емоційне забарвлення сленгу має велику різноманітність відтінків: жартівливу, іронічну, глузливу, зневажливу, презирливу,грубу і навіть вульгарну. З його допомогою люди можуть ототожнювати себе з певними соціальними і професійними групами. Сленг –це жива мова, яка йде в ногу з часом і реагує на будь-які зміни в житті суспільства, тому вживання нових слів та словосполучень відбиває всі його політичні і соціальні зміни.

(en) Youth vocabulary is an extremely dynamic phenomenon and it needs to be continually comprehended, structured, synthesized and analyzed. The article represents a comprehensive description of the youth slang, as one of the subsystems of modern English, the reasons for its occurrence and use. Youth slangisas an integral part of more comprehensive and up-to-date education of modern English. The study of English youth slang needs to be gradually introduced in general education, because it contributes to the comprehensive development of students in language learning. The slang appears in the language, spreads and lasts for a while, but then disappears, giving way toa new slang, along with new trends. Slengizms are particularly popular in periods of certain social changes, wars, economic and cultural changes, when there is an urgent need to distinguish between new concepts and phenomena. Moreover, slang crosses not only social, cultural, but also geographical boundaries. Slang is an emotionally colored non-literary vocabulary that arises and is used primarily in oral speech. Most words and phrases are incomprehensible or incomprehensible to the majority of the population. Familiarly, the emotional coloring of slang has a great variety of shades: humorous, ironic, mocking, contemptuous, rough and even vulgar. With it, people can identify themselves with certain social and professional groups. Slang is a living language that keeps up to date and responds to any changes in society, so the use of new words and phrases reflects all of its political and social changes. The article defines that slang words and phrases are emotionally colored vocabulary that arises and used mostly in oral communication. Words and phrases that are outside the literary English language can be divided into certain groups of people: by age, territorial, class, and professional. The most common is by age and youth vocabulary is especially common.
