(en) The article deals with the problem of training students to become professionals with job-oriented competences which include general competences, capacity for autonomous learning, and ability to make decisions in the field areas. The main focus of the article is Ukrainian new ESP curriculum that takes decision making as one of the most necessary pragmatic competences and study skills.
